The 1st of September.  September already! Don't quite know how that happened. And it's still warm enough for me to wear dresses and skirts with bare legs! I think this year we may have had what actually qualifies as a summer. But now it's meteorologically autumn and soon the thermals will be back I am sure.

No excitement today. Wrote up a blog post, backed up my iPad which wouldn't charge yesterday but will today, and had a delivery of a flannel shirt dress I ordered from Uniqlo. I bought it in olive green already and it is so easy to just throw on and comfortable and I can wear it in the winter too, so I got another in "wine", which is dark red checked.

This afternoon, I watched the last episode of Zoo which tied up zero loose ends, then I started crocheting a new baby blanket in chevrons using different shades of purple. It took me a while to get going because I had to start it three times but already it looks really good.

I also had a phone call from Shaki about Nova, and she's got a place for her in an adoption centre. She's going to pick her up tomorrow and take her home to see if she makes friends with the lone kitten she's got, then they can hopefully both go together. I will be sad when she is gone; she is my favourite.

The 2nd of September.

I have one very sad kitten. Hopefully that won't be the case for much longer.

This morning was pretty unremarkable. Daddy went to the GP and had a lot of blood tests but it sounds like he might have coeliac disease. We'll know more on Tuesday when the results come back. Until then he's going to kind-of avoid gluten (he's not cutting it out completely so he gets the proper diagnosis but he's had the test now so I don't really understand but I'm not getting involved).

After lunch, I did a bit of crocheting, and the family from last weekend came to take Nola. She hid in a box at first, but while we filled in the paperwork and talked she came out and it didn't take long for her to get in the carrier of her own volition. At that point, we shut the door, and they took her to her new home!

I went back to my crocheting, but then I could hear Nova mewling because she was alone and sad, so I had to abandon what I was doing and go sit with her. I started Jessica Jones on Netflix (her look will be my winter aesthetic which is basically large snoods, tops in varying shades of grey/black and a leather jacket). I've left her to do this, and Mommy's taken my place. I am hoping this obvious need for company means she'll get on with Shaki's kitten this evening!
